Gameplay[edit]

Similar to Digital Extremes' other major release, Warframe, Soulframe will focus on cooperative player-vs-environment combat. According to the developers, the game's combat will lean primarily towards melee, with slower and heavier pacing.[1]

There will be an open world hub area for players to explore, while underground cave areas will be procedurally generated, representing the world shifting in its anger. Rather than having a static home area, players will log into the game in the same place they exited, giving a more immersive living world experience.[2] There are plans to include a variety of mounts that players will be able to acquire.[3]

Despite the suggestive name, there is no direct inspiration from FromSoftware's Souls series of games. "Soul" will be a central game mechanic, though no details have been revealed at this time.[4]
